ONGOING CLASSES

Our ongoing classes provide a great environment for all performers, from beginners to seasoned professionals. The space allows the student to build their confidence as an artist and as a person in their everyday life.

Our weekly classes are on-going all year round, and held in 2 cities on 3 different nights. Monday in Nixa, Tuesday in St. Louis, and Wednesday in St. Louis. Classes usually last from 6:00pm to 10:00pm (children and teens are let out by 9:00pm). There is no strict time limit since we finish class when we have given each scene thorough attention and work. We not only lead actors to their fullest potential as artists, but we also train our students to become business savvy professionals.

We have an 8 week curriculum that we cycle through year round. Don’t think of this as a traditional curriculum with testing, but more like a workout routine a personal trainer would give you for the gym. We rotate an 8 week cycle, but each time we return to a subject you will be pushed to a higher level of commitment and emotional range. Students perform 1-2 characters / scenes every week. This diverse, organic structure allows for students to grow rapidly as long as they put in the necessary preparations for each performance.

You can join class any time within the cycle. You will only pay for 4 weeks at a time. If you wish to continue after your first 4 week session we will prorate your payment to get you in sync with the rest of the class payment.

For your first 4 weeks the cost is $165. This covers an audio seminar (MP3) on the Creative Actors Process, and a one-time private coaching phone call with coach Kelsey. After your first 4 week session, the cost is $160 if paid with Debit/Credit Card, or $150 if paid with Check/Cash. Payment is always do the 4th week of the cycle so we know who is returning next session.

Our Continual 8 Week Regimen:
  • On Camera Auditions
    • We create a real world audition experience with professional film equipment. After everyone has performed we view video playback and the coaches give their critiques. Students have an opportunity to come away from class with a professional performance clip. If their performance doesn’t turn out to be a great representation of their work, they still have access to the footage for further studying.
  • Audition Technique & Scene Study
    • Students perform twice. One Audition and One Prepared Scene.
    • Auditions are held in the form of a callback with 2-3 scene partners performing with script in hand. The audition scenes always rollover to the next week and become the student’s prepared scene.
    • Prepared Scenes are self-directed and treated as if the scene is being performed on a film to tv set. Scene partners develop their characters, bring in necessary costumes /props, and determine their blocking and business.
  • Audition Technique & Scene Study
  • General Information Seminar & Scene Study
    • Prior to class, students develop and email their character breakdowns and backstories to the coaches. In class we have a seminar on Genera Information – one of the three pillars of the Creative Actors Process.
    • The coaches then give their critiques on the students’ character breakdowns.
    • The second half of class consists of Prepared Scenes.
  • On Camera Monologues
    • Students prepare and perform 60 Second Monologues. Their performances are recorded with professional film cameras, lighting, and audio. Students have an opportunity to come away from class with a professional performance clip. If their performance doesn’t turn out to be a great representation of their work, they still have access to the footage for further studying.
  • Audition Technique & Improvisation
    • Audition for the first half of class.
    • Improvisation for the second half of class. We teach the fundamentals of Improv performance with a focus on Film / TV auditions and productions.
  • Audition Technique & Scene Study
  • Actual Preparation Seminar & Scene Study
    •  In class we have a seminar on Actual Preparation – one of the three pillars of the Creative Actors Process.
    • The coaches assign a fact for Actual Preparation to each student.
    • The second half of class consists of Prepared Scenes where students practice this incredibly powerful and simple technique.
    • Every 16 weeks we alternate the Actual Preparation class with a special challenge called “Gut Exercises”. These are always eye opening as they prove to the student that can switch from extreme emotions and mindsets completely and quickly.

The 8 week regimen is repeated year round. Every time we return to a subject, each student is given a new challenge by stretching them in new emotional range and varying genres.
